How to add an MCP server to Antigravity CLI

Antigravity CLI (agy) reads MCP servers from ~/.gemini/config/mcp_config.json for all projects, or .agents/mcp_config.json for one project, under mcpServers. Local servers use command and args; remote servers use serverUrl.

Add a local server

{
  "mcpServers": {
    "playwright": {
      "command": "npx",
      "args": ["-y", "@playwright/mcp@latest"]
    }
  }
}

Add a remote server

{ "mcpServers": { "my-server": { "serverUrl": "https://example.com/mcp" } } }

Coming from Gemini CLI? Rename url or httpUrl to serverUrl.

Pass an API key

"my-server": {
  "command": "npx",
  "args": ["-y", "package-name"],
  "env": { "API_KEY": "your-key" }
}

Skills and plugins

Skill folders go in ~/.gemini/antigravity-cli/skills/, or .agents/skills/ for one project. Old Gemini CLI extensions, now Antigravity plugins, are converted with agy plugin import gemini.

Every MCP server page on this site has an Antigravity CLI tab with the config ready to paste.

Questions

Does Antigravity CLI read my old Gemini CLI settings?

Yes. The first time you run agy it detects legacy Gemini CLI settings. Remote servers may still need url or httpUrl renamed to serverUrl.
