About kiro-steering
kiro-steering manages the Kiro steering folder as persistent project memory. On first run, in bootstrap mode, it analyzes the codebase in three areas: product, tech and structure. It then generates core files product.md, tech.md and structure.md, describing patterns rather than exhaustive lists, using templates from the settings folder.
In sync mode, it compares existing steering files with the code, reports drift and proposes additive updates that keep user sections intact. Custom steering files are checked for relevance. It is aimed at developers using Kiro who want their steering files to stay aligned with the code.
